my beast

grizzly fellow of love my fear. Stalls me, scalds me.
a daily dose a pain I know, hurls me, sickens me.
what twisted creature carved from inside.
a beast unchained, torments me.

why strength in love eludes me now,
still plain to see, warm light to all casts relief,
but fleeting light in a dark world bears my grief.
why these chains wont break, I know not.

trust in her, her scattered affections rain drops on baron lands ,
suffocated, squeezed perhaps soured by my clenched hand,
holding on so tight, eyes shut.
afraid when pried open, squinting, she will be gone from me.
